Professor Frank Gu explains how Waterloo Engineering is leading the creation of next generation water treatment. By using nanotechnology and titanium dioxide, they can remove pollutants from water, that conventional technologies like filtration, chlorination and ultraviolet radiation cannot. Coating the mineral with magnetic nanoparticles ensures it can be removed from the water supply after doing its job. Their research will revolutionize water treatment.
