In this video, you will learn all about Water Treatment Plants.
In cities and towns, water from river and lakes is cleaned in the city’s water treatment plant.
It involves the following steps:
• Coagulation: This helps remove dirt and suspended particles.
• Sedimentation: The heavy, insoluble particles settle at the bottom. The clean water is then sent for filtration.
• Filtration: The water is made to pass through filters made of layers of sand, gravel, and charcoal. This helps to remove even the smaller suspended particles.
• Disinfection: Chlorine is added to water to kill the bacteria or the microorganisms, present in it.
• Storage: Water is stored in a closed tank and is supplied to homes through pipes.
