SkyTeam 11 reported the wall of the east side of the Back River Waste Water Treatment Plant was blown off in an explosion. Seven workers who were inside the building have been accounted for and were evacuated, SkyTeam 11 reported. No injuries were reported. Baltimore County Fire Department spokeswoman Elise Armacost said around 2 p.m. that crews first entered a building that was being used by a city contractor, Synagro, which converts waste to an agricultural pellet. Armacost said crews dealt with multiple fires, which damaged the structure to the extent that a commander evacuated all crews for safety. How the fire started remained under investigation.
