IN SEQUENTIAL BATCH REACTOR, ALL TREATMENT STEPS ARE DONE IN SINGLE TANK. Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) technology is a time-dependent activated sludge process.
SBR works in the following 5 steps;
1. Fill,
2. Aeration,
3. Settle
4. Decant
5. Idle
Features of SBR:
1. Equalization, primary clarification, biological treatment, and secondary clarification can be achieved in a single reactor vessel, thus conserves space, economical.
2. Operating flexibility and control with low running costs.
3. Secures a stable supply of good-quality treated water with high nitrogen & phosphorus removal rate.
4. BOD removal efficiency is generally 85 to 90%.
