Algae Detection and Removal Strategies for Drinking Water Treatment Plants

With the many treatment and water quality problems associated with algae, this study presents its findings on: coagulation conditions, the utility of on-line in-vivo fluorescence, dissolved oxygen and pH measurements; effectiveness of conventional treatment; and effects of potassium permanganate preoxidatiion. Recommendations and treatment strategies are presented as well.
